• Who is Nureddin Yıldız Hocaefendi?

He was born in 1960 in Of district of Trabzon. He completed his memorization of the Quran at the age of eight with his father, Hilmi Yıldız Hocaefendi, and received his basic religious education. He studied at Istanbul-Gaziosmanpaşa Imam Hatip High School. While attending the imam hatip high school, he started writing weekly articles for various newspapers and penning translated news. At the same time, he continued to deliver sermons.

During his student years, he took on active roles in the National Turkish Students' Union and the Akıncılar Organization. After finishing high school, he attended Marmara University Faculty of Divinity for a year. He then transferred to Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca. There, he completed the Usul al-Fiqh department. Later, during his time in Mecca, he received private lessons and licenses from renowned hadith scholars. Some of the teachers he received licenses from are the great muhaddith Abdulfettah Abu Ghudda, the great scholar from India Abu'l-Hasan An-Nadwi, and Mehmet Emin Saraç Hocaefendi from the late Ottoman scholars.

After returning to Istanbul, he began educational and civil society activities. He conducted project works in various institutions in the field of memorization and religious education. At the same time, he started translating and writing original works.

In the field of civil society, he pioneered the establishment of many civil society organizations and currently holds active roles in different levels of these organizations. Most recently, he founded Sosyal Doku Derneği and Sosyal Doku Vakfı.

Within the scope of preaching activities; he has given thousands of seminars and conferences on topics such as marriage, children and family education, awareness-raising for youth, Islamic ethics, organizational training, ummah consciousness, etc., and continues to do so.

He currently continues his work at Sosyal Doku Vakfı, being a husband and father of four children. He is one of the first members of World Scholars Union in Turkey and is also a founding member of Turkey Scholars Union. Throughout the educational season, he continues his talks every weekend at Sosyal Doku Vakfı.
